After a commendable 15,000+ downloads in less than three weeks with the self titled album “The Montra”, Senica Da Misfit & Jimmy FLight (collectively known as The Montra) strikes again. This time, bringing you the Thornz street album. "We are lethal together. The chemistry between Flight and myself was incredible on the Sidewalks-N-Aves Mixtape & The Montra album. So, it was only a matter of time before we formed as a group and cooked up a whole project, and now is that time", says the Baltimore MC about working with the Detroit producer Jimmy FLight.
On the head-banging track, "Nose Bleedz" Senica expresses his thoughts on today's rappers: "Half you dudes out we don't need that/ the blind leading the blind I wish you could see that". Da Misfit also reveals his personal life tragedies--the loss of his two cousins in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing on "Wake Up". "My mother felt the ground shake/my uncle lost his sons on that foul day". From start to finish, Thornz is yet power-packed opus with beats, rhymes, and life and proves to be a head-nodding pleasurefest.

After an acclaimed buzz from their first project Movement Music, Senica Da Misfit & V-12 have released Word Is Out--a 15-track opus to the essence of what Hip Hop is all about. This time around, V-12 enlists beatsmiths DatKneegro Nut, Sha-la Shakier, Kashdontmakebeats, and KB to assist the soundscape.

Senica professes his passion for the art of crafting a timeless body of work on each and every song. "Boom-bap rap, Gold-chain music, Backpack, whatever--don't brand me like that. I'm Hip Hop. WE are Hip Hop. I'm a student of this game and was bred to be a part of this culture. V-12 and I have a hunger that's so bad that we cure it by just making good--no, GREAT music together. Not everyone has production that I like, nor is my music for everybody. But check what we've done so far with no 'machine' behind us. Not only are we more-than-worthy, we can't be denied", says Da Misfit. Senica remains sharp with the pen by putting today's new-generation rappers on notice. On "Zone", he spits, "I ain't gotta shoot the block up/beats still kick like my music's soccer". Da Misfit paints a verbal picture of his back-in-the-day experiences by telling the listener how he "used to walk with the lean/clean cut with that B-Boy strut/cassette tape turn the boombox up" on melodic "Fly". Another stand-out cut that has been picked up on mixtapes and FM Community Radio across North America is "Don't Sleep", which advises "keep ya eyes open and prepared/it's too late the world knows I'm already here!"

The Baltimore spitter has teamed up with long-time producer, DJ, and friend—DJ Darkfada, to release Sidewalks-N-Aves. The 32-track mixtape/street album is a breath of fresh air for Hip Hop purists and elitists, as it has all of the essential elements needed to keep heads nodding and trunks rattling. Senica gives up raw lyrical ability, witty wordplay, and a wealth of knowledge (all with no gratuitous use of profanity), over some rather soulful productions, courtesy of V-12 (of True School Corporation), J-Dilla, Jimmy Flight, True Statik, and Undecided. Natural chemistry of Da Misfit’s rhyme-stylings is more evidently shown by Senica’s resident beat smiths: Neckbrace Productions (DJ Darkfada & Senica Da Misfit), DanjahOne, & Nobility.
At press time, Senica exclaimed: “From beginning to end, this is one of the most exciting, yet personal works I’ve put together to date. I grew up on real Hip Hop; I still rep for real Hip Hop, as I will always be real Hip Hop. If I’m giving this away for free, just imagine what I have cooking for the ‘official” project!” Senica is currently working on a joint project with True School Corporation producer V-12, tentatively titled Movement Music (release date TBA).
