After an acclaimed buzz from their first project Movement Music, Senica Da Misfit & V-12 have released Word Is Out--a 15-track opus to the essence of what Hip Hop is all about. This time around, V-12 enlists beatsmiths DatKneegro Nut, Sha-la Shakier, Kashdontmakebeats, and KB to assist the soundscape.
Senica professes his passion for the art of crafting a timeless body of work on each and every song. "Boom-bap rap, Gold-chain music, Backpack, whatever--don't brand me like that. I'm Hip Hop. WE are Hip Hop. I'm a student of this game and was bred to be a part of this culture. V-12 and I have a hunger that's so bad that we cure it by just making good--no, GREAT music together. Not everyone has production that I like, nor is my music for everybody. But check what we've done so far with no 'machine' behind us. Not only are we more-than-worthy, we can't be denied", says Da Misfit. Senica remains sharp with the pen by putting today's new-generation rappers on notice. On "Zone", he spits, "I ain't gotta shoot the block up/beats still kick like my music's soccer". Da Misfit paints a verbal picture of his back-in-the-day experiences by telling the listener how he "used to walk with the lean/clean cut with that B-Boy strut/cassette tape turn the boombox up" on melodic "Fly". Another stand-out cut that has been picked up on mixtapes and FM Community Radio across North America is "Don't Sleep", which advises "keep ya eyes open and prepared/it's too late the world knows I'm already here!"
